2023 Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards

The annual Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards (GWSA) provides recognition for employers based on best practices for eliminating workplace injuries and illnesses, and salutes those who have made occupational safety and health a core value.  The Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards are open to all organizations, regardless of size or number of workers affected.  All Hoosier businesses, unions, municipalities, schools, service organizations, nonprofit organizations or individuals are eligible to apply for the awards.  To qualify, an employer must be deemed to be free of compliance disputes concerning all applicable local, state and federal statutes and regulations.

The awards ceremony will be held during the 2023. Indiana Safety and Health Conference on March 1, 2023.

The award provides acknowledgement to employers based on outreach, education, innovations and partnerships.  Applications are due Friday, January 13, 2023.

REGION VII SAFETY PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR AWARD

Central Indiana Past President Jeff Fox was selected as the American Society of Safety professionals Region VII 2022 Safety Professional of the year.  Jeff’s work over the last five years in support of the occupational safety profession, the Central Indiana Chapter, and the Region distinguished him from the 4,800 professionals in the 22 chapters practicing in six states (IN, KY, MI, OH, TN, WV) that comprise Region VII.
