Through the ASSP Foundation, the Chapter annually provides a $3,000 scholarship and a $1,500 scholarship. These scholarships are titled the “ASSP Foundation Scholarship, Funded by ASSP Central Indiana, in Memory of Jim Kriner” in honor of Chapter Past President Jim Kriner. Students in Indiana studying occupational health and safety programs have the first priority in receiving these scholarships. The Chapter also organizes an annual golf outing to provide additional scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to Central Indiana ASSP student members and have been provided to students at Indiana State University, Indiana University and Purdue University. Throughout the year, the Chapter donates to organizations in need of safety equipment, such as personal protective equipment, bicycle helmets, first aid kits and AEDs. The Chapter also donates to Kids Chance of Indiana and the Construction Family Assistance Foundation. Both organizations missions are to financially assist families who have been affected by a life changing workplace injury.
