Central Indiana Chapter member and Indiana State University professor Charmaine Mullins-Jaime is requesting participation in a study on the effects of integrated safety,
environment, and Lean production management systems with moderating factors safety
climate and worker engagement. The intent of this study is to fill the gap in the research
on the integration of these systems and to explore any moderating effects of safety
climate, worker engagement, and risk management efforts on injury severity and
reduction of high injury severity potential. This research might prove helpful to safety
professionals working within these integrated systems in protecting their workers from
She’s conducting a case study among manufacturing organizations with varying
levels of safety, environment, and Lean management integration. If you are interested in
participating and meet the selection criteria, you will be asked to participate in a survey.
In addition, a second survey will be sent to you to be distributed among your employees.
All responses are anonymous and great efforts will be taken to protect participant identity.
If selected to participate, in consideration for your efforts, I have funding to offer a gift of
$250 to be used to improve your safety program.

The Central Indiana Chapter will award up to three $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors in Indiana with a 2.8 GPA or higher who will be furthering their education in Indiana with an emphasis on occupational safety is eligible to apply.
Safety related careers may include:

-Or others as approved by the scholarship selection committee.
