Central Indiana Board Member Ginger Dayton Awarded the Region VII SPY

The Central Indiana Chapter is proud to announce that Ginger Dayton was named the 2025 Region VII Safety Professional of the Year (SPY) Award!

Ginger has served as the Chapter Program Chair for the past 4 years and is involved with the Indiana Safety Conference and Future Leaders Golf Outing.

Ginger is an experienced consultant and safety Director with a demonstrated history of working in and with a variety of industries including healthcare, pharmaceutical, nutritional, manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, laboratories, field sales and service, office, facilities, maintenance and transportation. She is skilled in Workplace Safety and Health, Ergonomics, Program Development and Implementation, Risk Assessment, Data Analysis, Safety Team Development, and Public Speaking. She’s a strong operations professional with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health and Master’s Degrees in Safety Management and Community Health from Indiana State University.

Ginger met with ASSP President Pam Walaski prior to the SPY Awards Luncheon.

2025 Chapter Election Results

The Central Indiana ASSP Chapter has announced the results of its May 2025 elections, welcoming two new Board Officers. A total of 108 ballots were submitted, representing 21% of the Chapter’s membership. The newly elected officers will serve two-year terms beginning July 1, 2025.

Jane Nderitu has been elected as the Board Secretary, while Susan Yeiter will take on the role of Treasurer. Additionally, leadership transitions are set, with President-Elect Karl Weisser succeeding Chapter President Mark Frye and Vice President Daniel Brewer stepping into Weisser’s role.

Exciting times ahead for the Chapter with new leadership in place!

2025 ASSP Foundation Scholarships

Since 1990, the ASSP Foundation has awarded more than $6 million in academic scholarships and professional education grants to occupational safety and health students and professionals working towards their educational goals.

The Central Indiana Chapter is proud to announce the following Chapter members as recipients of the ASSP Foundation Scholarship, funded by ASSP Central Indiana Chapter, in memory of Jim Kriner.
