Safety Advisor/Owner’s Rep (Indianapolis)

SMG is seeking a local Safety Advisor – Owner’s Rep with Construction experience in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The key function is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible regarding change and travel.

Overview of Job Responsibilities

  • Check qualifications and safety/compliance software updates.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control precautions
  • Represent the Owner in progress meetings
  • Conduct Pre-Construction Risk Assessments (PCRA) and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) assessments and track for conformity
  • Conduct Facilities Staff Safety Training and other job-specific training as necessary
  • Conduct accident investigations, coordinate post-incident review meetings, and provide after-action reporting
  • Provide Program Management for the Contractor Safety Prequalification Program
  • Site safety observations, including documentation of findings
  • Site safety responsibilities in a hospital setting supporting Facilities, Design, and Construction.
  • Facilitate corrective measures where warranted
  • Representing the contractor or Owner in progress meetings
  • Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law and the Owner
  • Performing and documenting site safety assessments
  • Working with contractors to review and complete Job Hazard Analysis

Requirements

  • 5+ years of construction safety experience (preferred experience within the Healthcare industry)
  • Knowledgeable of safety/risk on a large-scale construction project through the various phases of work being conducted
  • Knowledgeable on infection control
  • Previous experience with OCIP a plus
  • Ability to add value in the field and project meetings
  • Degree in Safety or related fields
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course
  • First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association

Safety Advisor (Indianapolis)

SMG is seeking a Safety Advisor in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This Safety Advisor will oversee construction and facility projects and interact with customers and client employees while providing exceptional customer service and safety oversight.

Overview of Job Responsibilities

  • Project safety oversight on facility and capital projects
  • Review of contractor safety and fall protection plans
  • Document jobsite observations in RTRS/QHSE
  • Contractor qualification, orientation verification, and processing
  • Development of a monthly communication using Canva software
  • Aerial lift and PIV training for client personnel

Requirements

General Industry Safety Advisor (Lebanon, IN)

SMG is seeking a General Industry Safety Advisor in Lebanon, Indiana.

The key function of a Safety Advisor is to prioritize safety at the forefront of their job, put the client’s needs first, work effectively in a team setting, be self-managed, and remain flexible in the face of change.

Overview of Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the site operation teams (Facilities, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Warehouse) during commissioning and qualification, and help them transition into start-up mode.
  • Participate in walk-throughs to identify safety risks.
  • Attend meetings with project teams to review job tasks for site employees before execution.
  • Conduct risk assessments for all activities involving site employees to reduce safety risks.
  • Partner with the project team to review management controls for a safe start-up
  • Manage checklists and multi-stage verifications related to new operations.
  • Identify potential issues and reduce risks during the initial stages of transition.
  • Attend all project update meetings (daily construction huddles, project update meetings) and coordinate with the team to ensure a safe work environment for site employees.

Requirements

  • Understands high-hazard work and can mitigate the risks with limited oversight

Safety Trainer (Lebanon, IN)

SMG is seeking a local Safety Trainer for Construction/Manufacturing in Lebanon, Indiana.

The key function of the Safety Training Specialist is to prioritize safety, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work with multiple clients in a construction/manufacturing setting. This position will be a full-time trainer for SMG U.

Overview of Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver SMG U training programs for both Construction and General Industry.
  • Provide OSHA 10 & 30-hr for Construction and General Industry.
  • Provide HAZCOM Fall Protection and Confined Space Training.
  • Provide Trenching & Excavation Training.
  • Provide proper use of PPE Training.
  • Provide Hot Work training and much more.
  • Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner, and contractors.
  • Documentation and Report preparation.

Requirements

  • Five plus years of construction/manufacturing safety experience
  • Two-plus years of delivering safety training
  • A degree in safety or a related field is preferred
