SMG is seeking a General Industry Safety Advisor in Lebanon, Indiana.
The Safety Advisor will support the site employees when we start commissioning and qualification activities.
Overview of Job Responsibilities
- Manage teams/departments, oversee program execution, and program ownership
- Partner with the project team to support the proper execution of all local/State/and Federal safety requirements
- Serve as a liaison between the client and contractors, fulfilling operating procedures and safety policies
- Partner with the project team and all trade partners to build and maintain a safety culture aligned with the client’s vision
- Conduct safety observations and establish appropriate corrective actions for all unsafe conditions or practices identified during field visits
- Keep stakeholders informed of the safety performance of the contractors working on the project
- Facilitates Incident Reporting Procedures
- Provide safety “boots on the ground” resources for the client to ensure program execution
- Provide coaching to contractors when gaps are identified and communicate safety expectations
- Influence the proper execution of safety plans and participate in event investigations
Requirements
- 5+ years of construction safety experience
- Three-plus years of experience managing teams/departments, overseeing program execution, and managing program ownership
- Previous Commissioning experience
- Degree in Safety or related fields
- Previous safety leadership experience
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course
