Responsibilities
•Set the direction of safety program and communicate to HSE Staff & Management
•Establish metrics used to measure success and set annual goals
•Attend executive meetings to facilitate ongoing safety related discussion
•Manage annual budget for ongoing safety needs as well as non-routine safety investments
•Audit department processes and research ways to streamline functions, and oversee necessary changes
•Ensure safety training meets all project, OSHA and internal requirements for all Electric Plus team members
•Communicate corporate change and necessary instruction to team members
•Analyze inspection results and incident data periodically to identify trends.
•Review project contract language for risk
•Hire, support & manage all members of the safety department
•Review and support action plans for all projects
•Participate in NECA and various safety association meetings.
•Network with other safety professionals to learn about best practices and set Electric Plus as a leader in the construction community
•Meet with insurance company periodically to review best practices and open claims
•Direct and support Electric Plus Safety Committee
•Review subcontractor safety information for conformance with Electric Plus standards
•Aid in the enforcement of safe driving policies
Work Environment:
•Based in Avon Corporate Office
•Limited travel from Corporate Office required.
•Willingness to visit construction sites and branch offices on a limited basis
Qualifications:
•B.S/B.A./A.S in Business, Management, Safety Management or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience in construction sciences is preferred
•5-7 years minimum related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the management of safety and risk in an organization
•A familiarity with and implementation of safety related to OSHA Construction standards
•Experience with customer online safety and risk compliance portals, i.e. ISNetworld, Avetta, etc. is preferred
