HSE Manager – Projects & Construction

Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented HSE Manager, Projects & Construction to support multiple US based projects! This role requires a willingness to travel frequently.

Sedron is seeking a proactive and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager, Projects & Construction to support projects in the construction phase, ensuring safe execution and compliance before transitioning responsibilities to the operations team upon project completion. This role will ensure regulatory compliance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and foster a strong culture of safety. The role requires frequent travel (approx. 40%) and active participation in site safety initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial construction environments, relevant certifications, and strong analytical and communication skills. Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:
•Champion HSE excellence during the construction phase of projects, ensuring all safety protocols are embedded from the ground up
•Guide seamless handoffs to operations teams by preparing them with the tools and documentation, needed to maintain a strong safety culture post-startup
•Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement safety and loss prevention frameworks, including policies, standardized programs, training, and risk assessments.
•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and state-specific laws
•Track and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
•Maintain HSE documentation and ensure proper record-keeping for audits and inspections
•Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and manage compliance reporting.
•Develop project-specific risk assessments and work closely with internal teams and contractors
•Implement and manage contractor safety processes, including screening criteria, bridging documents, site orientation, and audit protocol
•Conduct facility audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring timely corrective actions
•Facilitate safety incident reviews with a strong focus on Serious Incident and Fatality (SIF) prevention
•Lead root cause analysis investigations using industry-standard techniques and collaborate on corrective action plans
•Research and apply best practices in design and operations to minimize safety risks (e.g., confined space entry, fall protection, emergency response)
•Lead and coordinate safety training programs, including hazard communication, lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, confined space entry, and emergency response
•Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to site-level safety personnel, engineers, supervisors, contractors, and project leaders
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, HR, operations, and tradespeople to support HSE initiatives
•Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management, air quality, and water discharge regulations during project phase
•Develop environmental compliance actions for projects in collaboration with contractors
•Develop and oversee emergency preparedness and response plans
•Support workers’ compensation and injury case management.
•Respond to internal and external HSE-related requests.
•Perform other related duties as assigned

This position has multiple levels of competency to be determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
•Minimum of 10 years of experience in the health and safety field, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility
•General knowledge of current safety practices, WA L&I, OSHA regulations, and safety system standards applicable to an industrial environment.
•Proficiency with Office 365 applications (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote)
•Strong ability to effectively communicate environmental, health, and safety concepts, plans, and technical information.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and safety management software
•Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
•Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline
•Experience with EHS data management systems such as Benchmark/Gensuite, EHS Insight, Enablon, or similar tools
•Background in programs aimed at improving Human and Organizational Performance (HOP)
•Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Graduate Safety Professional (GSP)
