Safety Advisor (Hybrid – Remote)

SMG seeks a Safety Advisor in General Industry that will travel to multiple locations across the country.

The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a construction environment.

**Locations will Travel to**

  • Indianapolis, IN
  • Jackson, MS
  • Atlanta, GA
  • Raleigh/Durham, NC
  • Dallas, TX
  • Dayton, OH
  • San Bernardino, CA
  • other site locations may be possible 

 Overview of Job Responsibilities

  • Site safety observations, including documentation of findings
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analysis
  • Safety program and facility observations
  • Gap assessments 
  • Provide Safety and Health Training
  • Provide incident management and support
  • Conduct New Hire Orientations and safety meetings
  • Provides incident management and support
  • Documentation and Report preparation
  • Conducts Contractor program reviews
  • Food/Pharma manufacturing preferred

Requirements

  • Five plus years of general industry safety experience
  • Ability to travel to multiple states around the country 
  • A degree in safety or related fields is preferred
  • Experience reviewing safety plans and procedures
  • Experience reviewing JHA’s
  • Previous experience in Food/Pharma manufacturing facilities is a plus
  • BCSP certification preferred – CSP
  • First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
