Safety Management Group is seeking a Safety Advisor in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Overview of Job Responsibilities:
- Execution of contractor safety program, which includes: Risk assessment of new contractor firms, Safety qualification, Program review, Training verification, Orientation (provide, oversee, track), Reviewing/editing safe work plans, and ensuring firms are maintained as approved in the database
- Perform jobsite observation on assigned projects & track in Predictive Solutions
- Provide guidance/coaching to facilitate corrective measures
- Incident investigation – 5 Why root cause and document and create the final report
- Execution of Owner’s project management policy
- Act as SMG resident expert and assist the Client with all aspects of SWPPP, SPCC, chemical & hazardous waste storage & disposal
- Collaborate with the Client & contractors on assigned projects to ensure proper execution of contractor program requirements as well as OSHA/ANSI standards
- Own and maintain Client confined space inventory
- Perform pre-entry evaluations and air testing for confined space work
- Deliver PIV and aerial lift training to client personnel
- Create monthly safety communication for the Client and contractor
- Various other duties to assist Client SHE and SMG teams
Requirements
- Degreed in Safety Management or related field
- 2+ years of safety or environmental experience
- OSHA 30-hour construction
- Working knowledge of 29CFR 1904, 1910, & 1926
- Certified trainer in PIV and aerial lifts
- Experience/knowledge with scaffolding, excavations, fall protection, LO/TO, & confined space entry
- Ability to obtain necessary environmental certification(s)
